This comment is way later than your post but I’ve only just stumbled upon it. The dead-end crappy job? I know all about it!
I’m on a similar journey as you are, except that I’m somewhat older- by 16 years! I gave my ex-boss two months notice and even endured that. So I don’t think I was irresponsible, especially with my sterling attendance record.
But when your job as a sales rep involves inflating prices, making empty promises and basically conning clients, then to die of starvation is better than holding on to the damn job.
At 31 you have already been able to muster the guts to say no to a life not worth living, well I knew my time would come, I just took a bit long. Great going ! Here’s to better lives.
